Privacy Policy
Parklo ("we", "us", "our") operates the Parklo mobile application and related services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Parklo.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored securely by Firebase Authentication), vehicle details (make/model and license plate), and a unique Parklo member ID.
Location information
With your permission, we collect precise GPS location while you use the app to display your position on the map, match you with nearby parking swaps, calculate routes, and broadcast availability to other drivers. We do not collect background location unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.
Device and usage information
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, push notification tokens, and diagnostic logs to maintain reliability and security.
Bluetooth information
If you enable vehicle Bluetooth detection, we use Bluetooth signals to infer when you may be leaving a parking spot. We do not access personal files on your device.
Communications and support
Messages you send through in-app support chat, feedback, and dispute reports are stored so we can assist you and enforce our policies.
Wallet and transaction data
We record Parklo Token (PKT) balances, ledger entries, swap fees, rewards, and admin adjustments associated with your account.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- provide map, routing, and parking swap features;
- authenticate you and secure your account;
- match seekers with providers and process swap requests;
- operate the PKT wallet and rewards system;
- send service notifications and swap alerts;
- investigate disputes, abuse, and safety reports;
- improve performance and fix errors;
- comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed:
- with other Parklo users, limited to what is required for live map visibility and swap coordination (for example, approximate location, vehicle label, and swap status);
- with service providers such as Firebase/Google Cloud, Google Maps, and push notification services that help us operate the app;
- with Parklo staff and authorized administrators for support, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution;
- when required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and activity data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and meet legal requirements. You may request account deletion through the app, subject to retention required by law or legitimate business needs.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- update profile and vehicle details in the app;
- control location permission in device settings (some features will not work without location access);
- disable push notifications in device settings;
- request account deletion in the app profile settings.

6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and role-based admin access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Children
Parklo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United Arab Emirates and other regions where Firebase/Google infrastructure is located.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
